Eastern Muswell Hill towards Alexandra Park N22
To the East of Colney Hatch Lane, places you on Alexandra Park Road, which is intersected by numerous terraces of pure Edwardiana.
Branching off Alexandra Park Road, are the “Lake Roads”, so called, because they are named after Windermere, Coniston, Grasmere and Thirlmere - all renowned English lakes - and all these roads are close to Rhodes Avenue Primary School and Alexandra Park Secondary School.
Also in this area is Muswell Hill Golf Club, and homes in Grosvenor Road and Rhodes Avenue, overlooking the “greens”, enjoy one of Muswell Hill’s “lesser known” panoramic views.
Grove Avenue, The Avenue, Rosebery Road and Curzon Road - also situated close to the Golf Club - are fine examples of the wide, tree lined roads so prevalent in Muswell Hill, although these avenues were planned and built with a combination of late Edwardian and 1920’s built semi detached and terraced houses, with long rear gardens and deep front gardens - many of which have now been paved over, to provide off street parking spaces.
