Northern Muswell Hill towards The North Circular
Travelling North from the centre of Muswell Hill Broadway, takes you down Colney Hatch Lane, which is flanked by a large number of late Victorian and Edwardian semi detached and terraced houses, and even some unique detached villas - with huge gardens - plus a few 1920’s built and post war houses.
Many of these 3 and 4 storey Edwardian houses, were converted during the 1950’s and 60’s into flats, giving a combination of 1 and 2 bedroomed flats, often with large communal gardens and deep driveways with off street parking.
A number of the roads at the lower end of Colney Hatch Lane, to the West and to the East, such as Greenham Road, Wilton Road, Sutton Road and Sydney Road, provide terraces of Edwardian houses, built in a similar style to those in the Alexandra Park area in the N22 postcode, although they are usually slightly larger and deeper - with 4 and 5 bedrooms rather than 3 or 4 bedrooms - and generally with gardens in excess of 50ft. long.
